AIGA_newsletter

Communiqué newsletterMembers have told us repeatedly that they want more information about AIGA activities. Although we have been able to provide an increasing amount of current information about AIGA on www.aiga.org, members have continued to ask us to push information their way. Each month in Communiqué, we'll let you know about important and interesting things that are happening and provide you with links to more information.

We welcome comments that will help us make Communiqué as useful as possible to you.

Site

Site is a journal for contemporary art, architecture, cinema, and philosophy. When the journal began six years ago, we attempted to set ourselves a series of goals, or at least to circumscribe a certain terrain. Because of the plurality of interests among the editors—artists, curators, film theorists, architects, philosopher, art critics—this proved to be a difficult if not impossible task, and instead of operating with definitions that in the end do not define anything, we attempted to do the opposite: to remain as long as possible in an indeterminate state.

Design Issues

The first American academic journal to examine design history, theory, and criticism, Design Issues provokes inquiry into the cultural and intellectual issues surrounding design.
Regular features include theoretical and critical articles by professional and scholarly contributors, extensive book reviews, illustrations, and a section for reader response. Special guest-edited issues concentrate on particular themes, such as artificial intelligence, product seminars, design in Asia, and design education. Scholars, students, and professionals in all the design fields are readers of each issue.

The journal includes a regular book reviews section and lists books received, and from time to time publishes special issues.

It accepts contributions from postgraduate students, or indeed anyone who produces an original, well-argued and well-substantiated article on any aspect of design history
