RTP - Olga Prats e os Compositores Portugueses

Um documentário sobre a ilustre pianista Olga Prats enquadrado numa retrospetiva da música portuguesa dos séculos XX e XXI e, tendo como mote principal, o contacto direto que teve com alguns dos maiores compositores e intérpretes da música erudita em Portugal, tais como: Fernando Lopes Graça, António Victorino D´Almeida, Constança Capdeville, Sérgio Azevedo, Artur Pizarro e Ana Bela Chaves, bem como grandes vultos do teatro com quem partilhou o palco, como: Eunice Muñoz e Maria do Céu Guerra. Através de duas entrevistas realizadas no palco principal do Teatro São Luiz e no Museu Nacional da Música Portuguesa, a nossa cicerone intercala interpretações de alguns dos temas que marcaram a sua carreira e a música portuguesa, e o contacto direto com esses mesmos compositores, com relatos pessoais de momentos íntimos e públicos dessas vivências únicas e particulares, partilhando com o público histórias privadas, de grande interesse e de valor inquestionável, como uma autêntica viagem relatada por quem a viveu.

Andy Cameron

Andy Cameron has worked as interactive creative director, creative technologist and digital artist for 20 years.

He co-founded the influential interactive creative agency antirom in the early 1990s and worked on award winning online and retail interactive briefs for clients like Glaxo Wellcome, Levi Strauss and Guinness. Andy co-founded the Hypermedia Research Centre at the University of Westminster in 1996 and published two critical essays – ‘Dissimulations, the Illusion of Interactivity’ and ‘The Californian Ideology’ (with Richard Barbrook).

Instituto dos Museus e da Conservação - RTP 2 | Série documental sobre 13 Museus Portugueses

A RTP2 estreou no dia 8 de janeiro uma série documental de 13 episódios sobre 13 museus nacionais de arte, intitulada "Um Dia no Museu". A série é transmitida aos domingos, a partir das 19h30, e pretende focar entre outros aspetos de interesse, o espólio artístico e a programação espaços culturais selecionados. The Firehouse Center for the Visual Arts (FCVA)

The Firehouse Center for the Visual Arts (FCVA) provides visitors with a fully-integrated arts experience through contemporary exhibitions and educational programming informed by the work in the Firehouse Gallery. The FCVA includes a community darkroom and photography studio; artist-in-residence studio; multimedia conference facility for lectures, film series, and panel discussions; and Resource Room and Library with public meeting space and Internet access. Burlington City Arts (BCA) opened all five floors of the building in 2004 after an extensive historic renovation, and has yet to complete the $3.5 million capital campaign.
The Firehouse Center for the Visual Arts is programmed and managed by Burlington City Arts.

Lucia Santaella

Lucia Santaella é professora titular da PUCSP com doutoramento em Teoria Literária na PUCSP em 1973 e Livre-Docência em Ciências da Comunicação na ECA/USP em 1993. É Diretora do CIMID, Centro de Investigação em Mídias Digitais, da PUCSP e Coordenadora do Centro de Estudos Peirceanos (Grupo de pesquisa cadastrado no CNPq). Coordenou o lado brasileiro do projeto de pesquisa Probral (Brasil-Alemanha/Capes-DAAD, 2000-2003) sobre relações entre palavra e imagem nas mídias. Coordenou ainda três outros projetos de pesquisa coletiva de grande porte: “ Imagens Técnicas: do mundo industrial-mecânico ao eletrônico-pós-industrial”, convênio PUC/SP-FINEP, 1989-1991; o projeto de pesquisa temático sobre “O Advento de Novas Tecnologias e Novas Gramáticas da Sonoridade”, financiado pela FAPESP, de 1992 a 1995; o projeto coletivo, modalidade multiusuários, “Produção e Difusão da Pesquisa Científica na Era Digital”, financiado pela FAPESP, 1999-2002. Les Arts Décoratifs

Organisme privé, association loi 1901 reconnue d’utilité publique, Les Arts Décoratifs furent créés en 1882 dans le sillage des Expositions universelles par des collectionneurs soucieux de valoriser les beaux-arts appliqués et de tisser des liens entre industrie et culture, création et production.


Longtemps connus sous la dénomination Union centrale des arts décoratifs (Ucad), Les Arts Décoratifs ont modernisé leur image en décembre 2004 en restant fidèles à leur vocation d’origine : exercer des missions de conservation des collections et de diffusion culturelle, d’éducation artistique et de formation de professionnels, de soutien à la création.
Les différentes composantes des Arts Décoratifs sont réparties sur trois sites à Paris :

> au 107 rue de Rivoli, les ailes de Rohan et de Marsan du palais du Louvre abritent le musée des Arts décoratifs, le musée de la Mode et du Textile, le musée de la Publicité, la bibliothèque des Arts décoratifs
> au 63 rue de Monceau, l’hôtel Camondo accueille le musée Nissim de Camondo
> au 266 boulevard Raspail est installée en 1988 l’école Camondo (appellation née d’une implantation antérieure dans les communs de l’hôtel Camondo), spécialisée dans le design et l’architecture intérieure.

Les Ateliers du Carrousel, ateliers de pratique artistique, sont présents sur ces trois sites.

Institution originale et plurielle, Les Arts Décoratifs poursuivent les objectifs qui ont présidé à leur fondation, « entretenir en France la culture des arts qui poursuivent la réalisation du beau dans l’utile » et maintiennent des liens étroits avec le monde industriel, établissant de nombreux partenariats avec des entreprises exerçant leurs activités dans des domaines variés.

A Interact é uma publicação digital, de periodicidade quadrimestral editada pelo Centro de Estudos de Comunicação e Linguagens (CECL).
O seu objectivo é a reflexão e a discussão em torno de temáticas importantes do pensamento contemporâneo, o acompanhamento crítico de acontecimentos e práticas culturais e artísticas e o incentivo ao trabalho de experimentação com as tecnologias digitais e as redes de informação.
Diminuir o fosso ainda existente entre a cultura e a cibercultura é ainda uma das suas principais motivações, procurando por isso o encontro (e o confronto) entre práticas mais tradicionais no âmbito da cultura (como o ensaio, a crítica e a recensão), e práticas de expressão, de reflexão e de criatividade próprias à cultura digital, como as da hipertextualidade e hipermedia, interactividade e conectividade.

ExperimentaDesign

ExperimentaDesign – Bienal de Lisboa (EXD) é um evento internacional dedicado ao design, arquitectura e cultura contemporânea.

A Bienal de Lisboa apresenta projectos, conceitos e ideias originais em diferentes formatos que vão das conferências e projecções às exposições, intervenções urbanas, workshops e debates, realizados em vários espaços da capital portuguesa.

O principal vector da bienal é o design no seu sentido mais amplo, não apenas nas suas múltiplas vertentes de criação e produção, mas o design enquanto disciplina operativa e metodologia de trabalho. O segundo vector da Bienal é a arquitectura, nas suas diversas escalas e âmbitos. Assumindo a cultura de projecto como eixo central e olhando-a sob uma perspectiva múltipla e inclusiva, a EXD apresenta conteúdos em áreas tão diversas quanto o ambient design, arquitectura, artes visuais, cinema, design gráfico, design industrial, fotografia, multimédia, música e vídeo.

Brody Neuenschwander (1958)

Brody Neuenschwander is a calligrapher and text artist whose work explores the boundaries between text and image. In many of his collages and large painted works image and text merge into one another, suggesting that the two may be read according to the same set of rules. Other works contradict this very idea, suggesting that there may be no way of reconciling these two fundamental ways of reading the world.

Calligraphy is central to this exploration. Writing can be legible or illegible, aesthetic or merely functional; it can be a language we know or a mysterious code. His works display an astonishing range of calligraphic expressions. Some styles are inspired by Neuenschwander’s studies of Arabic and Chinese calligraphy. Others are pure fantasy, like the work of Dotremont. Taken together, the works reveal an unlimited capacity to explore the line, the mark and the gesture.

This use of calligraphy as an artistic medium is not without its hazards. Calligraphy, like classical ballet, requires long years of study to master. Discipline and an understanding of materials are required. But for calligraphy to rise to the condition of art, it must go beyond these material considerations. It is for this reason that Neuenschwander places his work in the context of modern conceptual art. In one work, the image of Joseph Beuys opens a dialogue with an artist who was a prolific writer and teacher. In another, the word «Orientalism» undermines the idea that calligraphy must always be associated with the East.

Neuenschwander has collaborated with film director Peter Greenaway on a series of films, operas and exhibitions, culminating in the cult film «The Pillow Book». These projects have brought him wide recognition in the art world as well as a dedicated following among graphic designers, typographers and graffiti artists. Neuenschwander has exhibited internationally for many years. His work is in many public and private collections and has won several prizes, including the Belle Lettere international prize for calligraphy, the D&AD Silver Award and the arts medal of the president of Italy.

He´s a Communication Design Teacher at the University of Algarve - Portugal and was Co-founder and Creative Director of FuelDesign - Portugal(2000-2005)
